Lainshaw Viaduct

A class 45 "peak" crosses the Viaduct on the wrong line during the mid 1970's,

this was due to new continuously welded track and concrete sleepers being laid on the down

line in preparation for the uplifting and permanent closure of the up line.

Dr Beeching's legacy lives on!
