Robertland House

Donated by Alan Williamson

This is a postcard of Robertland House, located on Robertland Estate on the fringe of Stewarton. The date the postcard was sent to the addressee is stamped 10th July 1909. It is assumed the photograph was taken around this time as the front part of the house suffered fire damage in 1914, set alight by protestors from the Suffragette movement. The glass house on the South side did not survive the blaze. The house was later restored and survives today. Robertland House is of Georgian architecture, built around 1820.
