The Corsehill Queen
BY JOHN HAINING

The happy day again returns The happiest day in June, When bairns and grown-ups congregate Within the Bonnet Town To the Avenue Square, they then repair And what a bonnie scene, With grace and dignity watch the crown Laid on the Corsehill Queen.

The lively bands, the sports, the fun They annually supply, Bring many folks within our gates And how the hours fly, And how the bairns enjoy themselves No matter where I've been There's nothing, I can see can match he crowning o' their Queen.

Come summers sun, and cloudless skies You have a part to play And grace us with your presence On this very special day, You mark success on everything As we have often times seen Come shine in all your splendour While they crown the Corsehill Queen.
